Clensing the vessel, quelling the anger[pre-injury][private]

[Ravenflight]

A white, patched blur ran quickly across the open landscape, the DarkClan Territory. Ravenflight's movements were dangerously sporadic in pattern and some may have overlooked it as a sick cat, but he was overcome. Strong emotions he did not deal with well. While around the Camp he could keep his composure and while outside the camp, alone, he let it all flow. The only lake on DarkClan Territory is his destination. The Tom's frame shook with pure anger towards StarClan because one of his clanmates had left DarkClan, but soon after was killed by a rouge cat. Was that my friend's purpose, to relieve a cat who thirst for blood!? If Ravenflight's temper were any hotter, the water he submerged himself in would have been steaming. Water penetrated his fur after soaking and he stretched on lake bank, clawing on the ground, marking it furiously. He shook the water off, found a nice area and began grooming between rolls in the field. "May life's source rinse off the anger, may StarClan forgive my condemning thoughts. May there be harmony in the Clans. May the stars foretell to those who listen!" It is still there, the rage, but I can not do anything about it. That cat should not have ever left Clan life. She was an asset, and now she is dead.


Ravenflight let his mind be distracted by the family of rabbits he scented earlier. Might as well bring back fresh kill and make myself useful. The tom went into a low crawl towards the rabbit den and stalked it out. Many baby rabbits skittered around the den. His tense muscles were ready to spring into a leap until the larger female rabbit came into view and shuffled her babies into the burrow. He let them go for another season so they can get plump and large. He laid where he was crouching, and closed his eyes. Why did she have to die? She was so beautiful. Curses! She stirred my hunger when we had time alone as she let me listen to her worries. I will miss that.

He had been having plenty aggressive dreams with the desire to mate because he hadn't mated in a while. So frequent. He felt it was a message from StarClan, that his kits were gravely needed, but he came to realize that was foolish thinking. If he had it his way, he would be neck biting every female in the clan, the need was that strong, but he distanced himself to keep urges under control. It had become more than instinct that drove him to these feelings

What's the point in cleansing if my thoughts drift to these things, his tail swished in aggregation. Pelt almost dry, he stared back towards the pond. He allowed himself to zone out for a good chunk of minutes, and then walked back to the water to submerge himself again. Damn it.

I need to get back, been gone too long. Leaving all day, and alone at that would cause concern or suspicion. Ravvenflight decided he would bring back a large prey on his return. But in the meantime he stayed submerged longer than the last, until his lungs burned. The water has never been a place of retreat for him. While he was under the water, he caught a large fish. This would be a delicacy, no doubt to whoever ate it back at camp.

Ravenflight inhaled the cool air. Finally he surfaced on the water.

[Pantherstar]

A shadow flitted between trees. Its form took the shape of a lean she-cat with brilliant amber eyes. Her eyes held the colors of fire, ranging from the softest yellow to the warmest orange. StarClan had deemed this fae as Pantherfang, then burned into her 8 more lives so that she may lead DarkClan. Although now she only had 6 lives.

Pantherstar had been hunting on her own when she spotted another cat sprinting through the territory. It had been Ravenflight. He had not noticed her, but she could tell his mind was somewhere else. His face had been contorted into that of pure rage. Concern flashed across Pantherstar's own face, so she decided to follow him.

It was not uncommon for Pantherstar to get involved in the lives of her Clan, or to be a little bit nosy. She wanted to know everything that was happening in her family - for which all of DarkClan was her family. She no longer had any remaining blood family. She wasn't nosy for the benefit of knowing what was happening. She was nosy because she cared, and she wanted to help in any way she could. Pantherstar did not like secrets. That was why she would often ask for the opinion of the Clan when it came to decisions, but ultimately it was her choice. Just as she asked the Clan to let her know what was happening, so too did she let the Clan know what her own thoughts were. Secrets only led to lies.

Pantherstar padded to the edge of the lake, where she had seen Ravenflight dive in. He had always been a religious, yet reserved cat. That was why she was surprised to see his emotions so clearly on his face. Pantherstar sat down at the edge of the water, curling her tail neatly around her. When Ravenflight emerged, her maw curved at the edges in a slight smile. He had caught a fish! It would be a pleasant treat for the Clan.

Ravenflight. I saw you in the woods and couldn't help but noticed your fury. Are you alright? Her eyes softened, holding nothing but genuine concern.

Previous thoughts were pushed behind him. Ravenflight gripped the fish tight in his jaws as he lifted it above the water. The wiggling prey, very much alive, flopped its body and tail in protest. The fish tail kept hitting the left side of his face so his eyes were closed. When he had emerged his hearing was partially water logged. Meanwhile, the fishy scent distracted his olfactory senses.

"Ravenflight. I saw you in the woods and couldn't help but noticed your fury. Are you alright?"

As it can be imagined, the voice of his leader startled the him. Flinching resulted in Ravenflight dropping the freshly caught fish on the grassy ground below. The patched tom assessed the she-cat, giving himself a moment to compose from the recent startle.  Am I alright? This question is annoying. Best to not avoid her, he thought to himself. By reflex and rebound, his right paw heavily weighed on the fish as he dug it's claws into it. This effectively stopped it from making an escape. The feeling emitted from Pantherstar's stare grew heartening to the young tom in this moment. When he met her gaze he thought, maybe it was not so annoying after-all.

"So, you saw me in that awful state."

Ravenflight spoke clearly and gave her a crooked smile to mask his discomfort. His voice contained a signature raspy sound. It was a type of hoarseness that became soothing after so many interactions. Most likely the she-cat had not heard his speech in a good while because they had not conversed recently. Instead, he often stayed quiet and took orders or performed his duties.

"I needed time away from the clan. Dealing with *death has never been my strength."

Ravenflight's bold grey eyes were searching hers, "If I were not alright, would this have been a good time to approach?" The question was inquisitive. He could not help but react with such a question. Her startling him had riled his adrenaline. An aggression became apparent in his controlled stare. It refrained from reaching his tone and he knew better than to act. The tom felt rather tense this day. He feared she would ask more questions because he disliked answering questions about himself. As the leader of Darkclan Ravenflight rightly assumed this she-cat knew a lot more about him than he knew himself.

"I-"

In mid speech Ravenflight gave an unexpected sneeze and used his free paw to rub over his wet face.  Stupid water...Ravenflight continued,
 
"-am fine. There is nothing to worry about now."

Covering his face over with his paw was in effort to clean himself and a way to break eye contact with Pantherstar. His frame was shaking somewhat from the chill that clung to his body. The two felines happened to be conversing under a shady area.
